152 - Saint Seiya - Gemini Saga/Virgo Shaka - "Enough."

Title: Enough.
Fandom: Saint Seiya.
Characters: Gemini Saga, Virgo Shaka.
Rating: PG-13.
Genre: Drama.
Notes: Seventh in my thirty themes for saintseiyayaoi. Theme 7, Atonement.

“You should probably ask him to stop.”
Shaka looks up to find Aries Mu smiling kindly at him. The pink haired saint slides easily down next to him, eventually turning his attention from the strangely somber Virgo saint to the furious Saga. The Gemini Saint seems quite intent on either breaking the mountain or breaking his hands, whichever happens first, as he continues to attack the rock wall furiously, his cosmo burning so low it seems to almost flicker in and out.
“I should?” The blond asks after a lengthy silence, voice tingling with certain skepticism.
“He does admire you the most, Shaka,” Mu points out patiently, shrugging a bit himself, “I dare say outside Athena, you are probably the only one he would listen to.”
They both know what Saga is attempting to do, of course, as both are well versed in the training to avoid desires and thus pain. They had both been young and imprudent at some point – though Shaka was hard pressed to remember such times, he was sure they surely had existed – and they had tried to drown their sorrows in pain. Pain drugs the mind and delivers the body from most of its torment. Pain helps to silence a screeching conscience and allows enough exhaustion for sleep to be dreamless.
“Hm.” Shaka repeats the noncommittal sound, once Mu has left him alone, before he slides down the small cliff to where his fellow Gold saint continues to punish himself and the mountain for his sins. “Enough.”
The order – for it is one – startles Saga almost as much as the hand that calmly holds his arm still. Only the steady flow of a familiar cosmo stops the instinctual reaction to fight back, but he does wrench himself from the loose grasp, looking away.
“If you must train, Gemini, I believe an opponent that moves will be far more productive that one that has spent eons sitting in the same place.”
Saga looks up sharply, unnerved slightly by the artic undertone in Shaka’s voice, but nods jerkily. Neither of them is stupid, neither of them need to be told what goes unsaid.
But nevertheless, Saga is grateful for the intervention and follows docilely after Shaka, content to hope that maybe one day, he won’t have to bleed to atone.

Cool! Though I really do think that Saga would probably end up bringing the mountain down in time. I like the suddenness of his mood swings. Not sure yet how much I like Shaka's ability to control them and reluctance to do so.

Ooh, VERY nice~~~ *___* This makes more sense to me-- we know Saga's madly attracted to Shaka (in my world, anyway ^__~), but Shaka, if even interested at all, wouldn't be bothered with trying to pursue anything. He would, however, be compassionate enough to stop an obviously-repenting fellow Gold Saint from punishing himself to repent and detached enough not to take savage pleasure in Saga's pain like some of his more humanly flawed comrades. ^__~ This would be such a great start into a fic about how Saga finally gets his hands on Shaka, though... *hint, hint* ^__~
