153 - Saint Seiya - Gemini Saga/Virgo Shaka - "Yearning."

Title: Yearning.
Fandom: Saint Seiya.
Characters: Gemini Saga, Virgo Shaka.
Rating: PG-13.
Genre: Angst.
Notes: Eighth in my thirty themes for saintseiyayaoi. Theme 8, If only you could be mine.

Saga sits by his corner of the room, eating slowly and trying to ignore the echoes that come from the upper floor of the little cabin. Kanon sits on the stairs, listening in avidly, relishing in the cries and the yells and the sounds of things breaking – in more ways than one.
Their master and his lover are upstairs, fighting over something or another or doing… things, of which Saga doesn’t want to know anything about, but which seem to snare his brother’s curiosity away.
Kanon adores Cain, seeing in him everything he aspires to, but Saga feels fear and apprehension whenever the red eyes fix him with a disapproving stare. He wants to be good enough, holy enough to serve their Goddess and be chosen as one of her elite Saints, but Cain clashes horribly with all his dreams of greatness and light. Cain is a perpetual void of hatred and nothingness that enjoys killing and maiming and worships the fight for the fight.
Saga wants to grow up and be strong, to fight for what’s worth fighting for, and not become a jaded psychopath that sees no difference between one death and the rest. Saga doesn’t want the animalistic virtual catfights between his master and the Scorpio; he doesn’t crave the deceptively unblemished features and the velvety voice.
Saga wants something pure, something perfect. Something he can hold onto and cherish for the rest of his life, he wants something his brother doesn’t understand, something he’s only ever seen reflected brokenly in the light blue eyes of his master, long after Cain is gone.
Saga yearns for purity, even if he doesn’t know his name yet.

Awww. <3 So sweet. And the touch about Saga seeing that look on his master's face long after Scorpio's gone. Somehow very fitting that Kanon would admire Cain though. Perfect that Saga should have seen long ago the very problems that later arise in the Gold Saints we all know and love. Also, it's just right that there should be an argument and they don't have a clue what it's about. That's part of being young.

Aww~~~! I am seriously liking this studious, tries-to-do-the-right-thing student-age!Saga~~~ ^___^ And, realistically enough, he's got his secret crush... how cute is that?! And yes, it's probably very accurate that golden boy Shaka was raised away from everyone else and exempt from the most brutal training the other kids received... a golden, beautiful boy with enough Cosmos to make a Gold Saint's headsping at age 12... I'd be pretty fascinated by Shaka too! *__*
